     More UK Success for Nicki Gillis

     

    Aussie country rock Mum, Nicki Gillis has had her self written song, "Be a Star" come in at number 4 in the UK's top 40 country songs for 2010.

     

    Voted by hundreds of commercial and community stations across England, Scotland, Wales, Europe, New Zealand and Australia, the song rated higher than other charting artists of 2010 such as Trace Adkins, Jim Reeves, Slim Whitman and the Bellamy Brothers.

     

    "It is such a lovely feeling knowing that the DJ's in all these countries like my songs," said Nicki on hearing the news after a three hour gig with Aussie rock legend Doc Neeson, "I just want to thank all of the DJ's and their listeners for the wonderful support they have given me over the past two years."

     

    Frank Ifield was one of the first to congratulate Nicki when he visited her in the studio where she is recording her third studio album, "Woman of Substance".  

     

    "Nicki is a wonderful talent and it is lovely to see that she is finally getting the recognition she so thoroughly deserves, I look forward to seeing what she does next."

     

    "Be a Star" was in the UK charts for 15 weeks and spent four weeks at number 1.
